Two Packs in One by Matthew Brett
Side Country skiing. Take the lift up. Ski's off. Boot pack approx. 150 Vertical. Climb a metal staircase. Skis on for a downhill traverse. Skis off for another boot pack across the bowl and one last vertical climb. That's a lot of hooplah in tele gear. If you are not dialed into your gear - especially your pack - it's a lot of nonsense. But if you want the best snow on the mountain in steep North facing trees that's the program.
Today I used the Orion Archer pack. I found it to be efficient, lightweight, and bulletproof. The torsional strength was amazing. I could barely feel the skis on my back! I found the torso pack to be super comfortable. Using it over a base layer only for four hours there were no chafe points or hot spots.
It is rare to find a product you can truly believe in! I can't wait until tomorrow's Adventure!
See you in the trees!
